Government & display

Government-fleet & museum vehicle check

For ex-government fleet cars and trucks (federal, state, city and county), and for museum and public-display vehicles. Enter a 17-character VIN or an older chassis, fleet or display ID.

Free check

A valid 17-character VIN gets a free factory decode, NHTSA recalls and complaints, and a GSA Auctions surplus listing check. Older or non-standard IDs (5–16 letters and digits) are accepted too. Records for those are limited, and we'll show you where they usually are, free.

What we can check

Things to know about government and display vehicles

General information only, not legal advice. Check titling and registration rules with your state DMV before you buy. Vin Facts Check is not affiliated with GSA, any government agency, museum or auction house. The free decode uses NHTSA's public vPIC database and is not a title record.
