Collector & luxury car financing

Line up financing before you commit to a classic, luxury or exotic car, then check the history and provenance before you sign.

Before you compare loans

  • Check your credit report and know your budget, including insurance (agreed-value collector policies work differently from standard auto policies), storage, transport, taxes and fees.
  • Compare the APR, term length and total cost, not just the monthly payment.
  • Ask your bank, a local credit union or a specialty collector-car lender for a quote so you have something to compare against dealer or auction-house financing. Older and collector vehicles may not qualify for standard auto loans.
  • Budget for any reconditioning or restoration work. See the restoration cost guide.
  • Run a vehicle history report on the exact VIN before you sign. See report options.
